In 1997, at the age of 15, Statik Selektah organized, promoted, and executed a Hip Hop Showcase called Northern Exposure @ a small club on Hampton Beach.
It featured the best of Boston's underground at the time such as 7L & Esoteric, Mr Lif, Virtuoso, Masterminds, Bugout, Catch Wrek(Doug York), and more.
In 1999, Statik brought the show back to Hampton Beach for Northern Exposure 2, and featured a then-unknown artist named Reks, The PornTheatre Ushers, Brick Records' Skitzofreniks, and Boston B-boy Legends The Floorlords, among others.
Since then these artists have grown to be world reknown Hip Hop heavyweights and sold 1000s of records.
On September 15th, 2005, Northern Exposure returned to NH not only on the seacoast, but in the very town Statik started his DJ career in...
and was SOLD OUT before the doors even opened, serving over 600 hip hop fans.
Here's some of the night's highlights...
